God is utterly independent, unlike us. Even in whatever degree of independence we may possess, there is still dependance – actually, a lot of it.

What exactly took place at creation? People debate whether the Bible describes the process of creation as a six, twenty-four-hour-day event, or if the days are figurative. Some believe that not taking it as a six-calendar-day event is tantamount to rejecting the truth of the Bible, and that in turn could lead to a host of doctrinal and spiritual problems down the line. Do we take the Bible literally or not?

For a season I feel led to scribble some pastoral encouragements from the Word to you. The last couple years have been challenging, and I sense from the Lord that hard times don’t just leave hard spaces. They also leave empty spaces. The Lord impressed on me the need to fill those spaces with a spiritually-focused, gospel-oriented, encouraging presence. The title of this short pastoral weekly column is Four What It’s Worth…
